Universals and Forms in Philosophy

According to Aristotle, Plato’s theory of Forms is paralleled by the notion of a universal. The universal is a metaphysical notion communicating a predicate. For instance, let us look at the mouse I’m using: It is black and ovular in shape; thus, those are its universals/Forms. These predicates of which apply to multitudes of things, showing that the truth of a universal/Form is in its applicability to the plentitudes of items it applies to.
